Transit Maintenance Technician II
Summit County is recruiting for a Transit Maintenance Tech II. This position will work for our Public Works Department operating light to medium duty trucks, skid-steer loaders, medium sized loaders, backhoes, tractors, snow blowers, snow plows and other equipment such as hand tools, generators, cutting torches, saws, grinders and other related equipment required to maintain and install bus shelters and park and ride facilities in the Kimball Jct area.
Performs minor electrical/electronic maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. switches and outlets, lighting, fuses, parking controls, parking management, electronic signs, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools. Troubleshoots equipment failures and contacts appropriate repair/equipment company when required. Insures repairs are complete and to specification. Also, performs landscape maintenance, including irrigation plumbing, irrigation electrical/ electronic controls, and plant maintenance.
Provides working supervision to the Transit Tech I.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and/or training to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties; and five (5) years of experience in performing above and related duties; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary Range: $17.67 - $24.75/hr.
Both positions must possess a valid Utah Driver’s License. Having a Utah Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B is preferred.
