Legal Technology Support Specialist

The Litigation Division of the Utah Attorney General’s Office seeks an intuitive, collaborative, conscientious, legal technician to oversee, organize, and assist in the collection, preservation, analysis, and production of documents and other electronically stored information in high-volume and high-stakes cases defended by the division. The successful candidate will work with the attorneys and paralegals in the Litigation Division and in coordination with the office’s Legal Technology Specialist and may also work with other personnel in the IT Division.  This candidate would have direct contact with our clients, witnesses, and outside vendors to coordinate and manage electronically stored information, document collection and control, and e-discovery under the policies and procedures of the Office.  He or she will be integral in assisting the Litigation Division with organization of electronic and paper files. The candidate will provide support to attorneys and paralegals in the production and management of factual information generated through discovery. 


Candidates must have an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, and should have a minimum of three years' experience working as a litigation paralegal or legal document control expert. Candidates must have sufficient direct legal experience to be given moderate independence in making decisions and carrying out assignments in complex litigation and must possess the ability to control high volumes of electronic data, documents, and other information. He or she must have the ability to independently manage discovery processes involving large volumes of information stored in an electronic format through use of computer technology, digital scanners and document management software. The successful applicant should possess advanced knowledge and understanding of management software programs and have a working knowledge of state and federal e-discovery rules and requirements. Candidates should be detail oriented, demonstrate good analytical skills, nurture excellent client relations, be able to work well in a team environment and, be receptive to and seek out new projects and responsibilities. This position will also involve training and mentoring in the area of electronic document management and serve as a litigation resource to trial teams generally. May be required to travel as needed.
