The State Agency Counsel Division of the Utah Attorney General's Office has an immediate opening for an entry level attorney to represent the Utah Department of Corrections. This position requires the successful applicant to assist in representing the State's Sex Offender Registry and the Child Abuse Registry. The successful applicant will also assist in providing general counsel work to the Department of Corrections, including review and drafting of contracts, grants, policies, and administrative rules. Additionally, the successful applicant will assist the department in responding to document requests pursuant to GRAMA or discovery, researching and drafting legal opinions, and other duties related to general legal representation. Applicants must possess excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Membership in the Utah State Bar in good standing is required. The position is located in Salt Lake City and Draper, Utah.
